Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma-informed therapy recognizes the profound impact of trauma on the mind, body, and relationships—and centers safety, trust, and empowerment throughout the healing process. Rather than asking “What’s wrong with you?” trauma-informed care asks “What happened to you?” It honors the ways people have learned to survive and gently helps them move from a place of protection to one of connection and growth.

In trauma-informed therapy, the focus is on helping clients feel safe in their own bodies and environments. Therapists work to identify triggers, reduce shame, and support emotional regulation through grounding and mindfulness techniques. Treatment may include evidence-based methods such as EMDR and trauma-focused CBT that help reprocess painful experiences and restore a sense of stability. The goal is not to erase the past, but to integrate it in a way that no longer overwhelms the present.

At Pulianda & Brock Psychology Associates, our clinicians are deeply trained in trauma-informed care and tailor each session to meet clients where they are. We combine compassion with clinical expertise, helping individuals rebuild trust in themselves, strengthen relationships, and reclaim their sense of safety and agency. Whether trauma stems from a single event or years of chronic stress, we’re here to support healing at a pace that feels grounded, collaborative, and restorative.
